Feng Shui | Books, books, books and more books

“There is a simple rule: Whatever does not belong to either the element of Water, Wood, Fire, Earth or Metal is absolutely no cure in Feng Shui.”

We are very often asked which book to buy to learn about Feng Shui. The answer is rather simple. Do not buy any of these books. Most books as well as many websites are based on “Black Hat Sect Feng Shui” or “New Age Feng Shui”.

Black Sect Tantric Buddhist (BTB) is an “invention” by a so called Feng Shui Expert: Thomas Lin Yun. His “Feng Shui Teachings” have absolutely no foundation in Traditional Feng Shui. As Thomas Lin Yun is far from being recognized by Traditional Chinese Feng Shui Practitioners, his BTB teachings are considered to be nothing more than “Pseudo Feng Shui”. His scheme derived from superstition to help him to financially profit in order to live the “good life”.

Many books have been written since Thomas Lin Yun’s invention of “New Age Feng Shui” mixing up the subjects of psychology and hocus pocus. Amazon offers hundreds of Feng Shui books which are based on this superstition. People can not be blamed for being confused of so much information which is irrelevant to the traditional Feng Shui Teachings, which go back more than 5,000 years.

Furthermore many of these books give people ideas which can be more harmful than doing any good. Buying 10 different Feng Shui books can easily add up to cost hundreds of Dollars, not to mention the worldwide internet market promoting Buddha figurines, crystals and lucky coins. People are encouraged to paint their front doors red; the concept of the Feng Shui Bagua turned into the belief that one should hang a Bagua over the door. The misconceptions are endless.

Many people in search of better luck are turning their homes into a shrine of bad home design which the Chinese restaurant around the corner can not even come close to. The winning industry can be easily found on the internet selling cheaply manufactured so called “Feng Shui Cures”.

There is a simple rule: Whatever does not belong to either the element of Water, Wood, Fire, Earth or Metal is absolutely no cure in Feng Shui. Only a complete Feng Shui Consultation based on the year of construction, an exact 15 degree LoPan Compass Reading, the correct application of the Bagua will determine if any of the Five Elements is needed or if any of the Five Elements should be avoided.

If one of the elements is needed – the question is also “how much of the element” do I need? A cup full of Water will not take care of your home. A Fire place only belongs to the Fire element if the fire is burning. IF Earth is needed – you could literally throw half a ton of dirt into your home. It is Earth, isn’t it? So…why buy crystals? And again, one crystal will not have enough power to adjust the energies – you would need hundreds of crystals. This is when tan and yellow colors are introduced.

The list is endless…… If you have any questions we urge you to send us an email. Feng Shui is a wonderful “tool” to help a person to prosper, yet simply spending money on books and trinkets will only help the authors and the people who sell those trinkets.
